“I’d been to plenty of races then at 17 years of age I visited Bathurst with a family friend in a Holden Torana XU-1 and camped on the Mountain at Sulman Park.

The first car to arrive at the top of the hill in practice was a Mazda RX-3 rotary and it just blew me away!

This was back in 1977 and Allan (Moffat) and Bondy (Colin Bond) achieved their world famous Bathurst one-two, I was totally hooked. To this day Sulman Park remains my favourite piece of racetrack...”
