Background

 
 

Neil Crompton is a leading Australian motor racing and automotive industry figure.


His active racing career spans 43 years. (1972-2015) This includes 8 years as a motocross competitor and                           30 years car racing including 15 years as a professional driver.


Vastly experienced, Neil has raced and tested on circuits around the world, including

Australia, NZ, UK, France, Canada and the U.S.A.

He’s also driven a huge variety of cars… everything from Production Cars to V8 Supercars to Indy Car.



Key Achievements:

• Chosen to drive for the official racing return of both the factory Holden and Ford teams.


• Foundation member of the Holden Racing Team.


• 1999, joined Glenn Seton at Ford Tickford Racing to represent Ford.


•  Contested 369 car racing events to date.

61 x Top 3 Finishes. 133 x Top 6 Finishes. 206 x Top 10 Finishes


• On 24 occasions, contested major events at Mt. Panorama, Bathurst, On many occasions he’s led the 1000k                 Bathurst classic and earned two third placings in 1992 and 1995.

He also won the 12 Hour Enduro in 1994 and finishing runner-up in 2010.


• Team mates include racing legends, Jim Richards, Craig Lowndes,

Glenn Seton, Wayne Gardner (World Motorcycle Champion) and the late Peter Brock.


• Chosen by Holden on three occasions as the senior driver trainer managing the

Grand Prix Celebrity Challenge.


• Assisted V8 Supercar Champion James Courtney at the beginning of his car racing career.


• Impressive media credentials with successful relationships with major broadcasters on network television,                   radio and the web.


• 1996 - 2006 Network Ten Motorsport team presenting

V8 Supercars Championship and FIA Formula One World Championship events.


• 2007 - 2014 Seven Network Ten Motorsport team presenting

V8 Supercars Championship, V8Xtra, Friday Night Live and the Shannons Legends of Motorsport.


Today, Neil is a member of the V8 Supercar broadcast team on Fox Sports Australia and Network Ten.
